Verizon Military & Veteran Discount
A per-account monthly discount on Verizon plans for military, veterans, Guard/Reserve and Gold Star families — plus 25% off accessories and a Fios discount, verified through ID.me.
Verizon gives verified military members and veterans a monthly discount on their plan — and it’s a dollar amount, not a flat percentage. On Verizon’s current Unlimited plans the military discount is $10/mo off 1 line, $25/mo off 2-3 lines, or $20/mo off 4+ lines, applied per account for up to 4 lines. On most other advertised plans you instead get 15% off the plan’s account access charges. Verizon also gives 25% off accessories through My Verizon (10% in store, Apple excluded) and a separate monthly discount on Fios Home Internet where Fios is available.
You verify your status through ID.me — active duty, retirees, veterans, current or former Guard/Reserve, and Gold Star family members and next of kin all qualify. Register online at verizon.com/military or in a Verizon store. There’s no annual renewal, and the discount typically appears on your bill within 1-2 billing cycles.
This is an independent guide to help you use the offer. We’re not affiliated with Verizon, and Verizon controls the terms and can change them at any time. Always confirm current pricing on Verizon’s official military page before you buy.

HOW IT WORKS
The single most important thing to understand: the $10/$25/$20 figures are a discount per account, not per line. Verizon’s marketing "$25/line" headline reflects the resulting plan price with Auto Pay, paper-free billing and 4 lines — not the discount amount. The fixed-dollar amounts apply to current Unlimited plans; "most other advertised plans" instead get 15% off the plan’s account access charges.
Verizon verifies eligibility through ID.me. You create a free ID.me account and confirm your status; ID.me may require a validating document such as a military ID, orders, or a DD-214 for Gold Star next of kin. The person registering must be both the military/Gold Star member and the Verizon Account Owner or Account Manager. Military members, veterans and first responders can also register in a Verizon Company Store.
There’s no annual renewal — Verizon states eligible service members generally keep the military discount for life, though Verizon may occasionally re-verify status. The Fios discount lasts as long as you keep a qualifying home internet plan and verified ID.me status.
You can stack more savings on top: bundling Verizon mobile with Fios adds an extra $15/mo through the Mobile + Home Discount, a separate $5/mo discount is available on Fios Digital Voice or Home Device Advisor, and the military discount combines with the Auto Pay + paper-free billing discount. It cannot be combined with Deals at Work, Student, or other Those Who Serve discounts.
One thing to watch: many coupon and aggregator pages describe the Verizon military discount as a simple "15% off" or quote outdated per-line figures. The current structure is the $10/$25/$20 per-account tiered amount on current Unlimited plans, with 15% applying only to most other advertised plans — both confirmed on Verizon’s own support page.
Exclusions & fine print
- Prepaid plans and promotional plans are not eligible for the discount program.
- Apple products are excluded from the accessory discount.
- The mobile discount applies to up to 4 lines per account.
- Cannot be combined with Deals at Work, Student, or other "Those Who Serve" (first responder/nurse/teacher) discounts. It can be combined with the Auto Pay + paper-free billing discount and the Mobile + Home discount.
- Fios: limit of one military/first responder/nurse/teacher discount per account; Fios is only available in select areas of NJ, NY, MD, DE, MA, PA, RI, VA and Washington DC.
- Marketing "starting at" prices ($25/line mobile, $30/mo Fios) assume specific plans, line counts, Auto Pay + paper-free billing, and bundling, and exclude taxes and fees — treat them as best-case examples, not the discount value.
- Legacy-plan customers (signed up before 8/5/19, or Go/Beyond Unlimited before 6/18/18) keep their original discount amount; those legacy plans are no longer available to add.
