The discount is modest but genuine, and the real optimization is knowing the carve-outs. Because the 5% is limited to full-price items and excludes clearance, a live sale or clearance price will frequently beat 5% off full price — so compare the two before you check out. Licenses, warranties, and service plans never qualify, so don't expect the discount there.

One thing to watch: some coupon and aggregator sites float a 10% or 15% Sportsman's Warehouse military discount. That figure isn't the standing rate — Sportsman's own support pages state 5% on most full-price items via ID.me. Sportsman's has separately run in-store Military & Public Safety Appreciation Day events with deeper savings, but those are event-specific, not the everyday discount.
