Famous Footwear Military & Veteran Discount
Famous Footwear gives military members 10% off — online via SheerID or in store with a military ID. Here’s who qualifies, the online-vs-in-store split, and what’s excluded.
Famous Footwear gives military members an everyday 10% discount, available both online and in store in the United States. Online shoppers confirm eligibility through Famous Footwear’s verification partner, SheerID, and receive a unique promo code by email to use at checkout. In store, you simply show valid military identification at the register.
The online offer covers a wide range of the military community — active duty, reservists and National Guard, veterans and retirees, military spouses, dependents, and families including Gold Star families. The in-store offer, as stated in Famous Footwear’s own FAQ, is described more narrowly (active duty, reservist/National Guard, veteran/retiree).
This is an independent guide, not affiliated with Famous Footwear. Famous Footwear sets and can change these terms at any time; always confirm details on the official discount page before you buy.

WHO QUALIFIES
Famous Footwear gives military members an everyday 10% discount on one purchase, valid online and in U.S. stores. Online, verify through SheerID and get a unique promo code by email; in store, show valid military ID at the register. The online offer covers active duty, reserve/Guard, veterans/retirees, spouses, dependents, and Gold Star families — but the official in-store FAQ is narrower (active duty, reserve/Guard, veteran/retiree). It can’t be combined with other promotions (only Rewards Cash) and excludes many brands.
- Active-duty service members, reservists/National Guard, and veterans/retirees — eligible both online and in store.
- Online only (per the discount-program page): military spouses, dependents, and families including Gold Star families are also eligible.
- In store, Famous Footwear’s official FAQ lists only active duty, reservist/National Guard, and veteran/retiree — spouses, dependents, and Gold Star families are not listed for the in-store offer, so confirm acceptance with the store or Customer Service before relying on it.
- No first-responder, medical/nurse, teacher, government, or student discount is stated. Must be 18 or older. United States only.

HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.famousfootwear.com
- Open the discount-program page and verifyGo to famousfootwear.com/discount-program and click the verification button, then complete the SheerID form — you may be asked to upload documentation proving eligibility.
- Get your unique 10% codeAfter you’re verified, a unique 10% promo code is shown and emailed to you (check junk mail if you don’t see it). Codes are single-use and non-transferable.
- Apply the code at checkoutShop famousfootwear.com and enter the promo code in the promo code box at checkout before purchasing. Don’t add another promo — it can’t be combined (only Rewards Cash).
In store
- Shop a U.S. Famous Footwear storeBring a valid military ID to any U.S. Famous Footwear store.
- Show military ID at checkoutAt checkout, present valid military identification — an active, reserve, or retired government-issued military ID card; a VA/VIC card; a driver’s license with a "V" designation; or other military identification. The associate applies the 10% before you pay.
HOW IT WORKS
Online verification is handled by SheerID, a third-party service that confirms military status on Famous Footwear’s behalf. You may be asked to provide basic personal information and upload supporting documentation; verification typically takes a few minutes, after which you receive a single-use, non-transferable promo code. If your code doesn’t arrive or doesn’t work, check spam and contact Famous Footwear Customer Service at 1-888-869-1053. Online codes expire at 11:59 PM CST on December 31 of the year issued, and you may receive up to five codes per 30 days — so re-verification is required over time rather than being a permanent, one-time benefit. In store, verification is done at the register each time by showing ID.
The most important limits are the exclusions. The discount can’t be stacked or combined with any other promotions or offers — only Rewards Cash — and it doesn’t apply to gift cards or prior purchases. A long list of brands is excluded, including Nike, Birkenstock, Crocs, Brooks, Dr. Martens, and Vans, plus many "select" brands (see the official Exclusions page). So confirm your specific shoe qualifies before counting on the 10%, and compare it against a sitewide promo (e.g., an "Extra 20% off online" code) since you can’t use both — whichever saves more.
One eligibility nuance to plan around: the online program lists spouses, dependents, and Gold Star families as eligible, but the official in-store FAQ names only active duty, reservist/National Guard, and veteran/retiree. If you’re a spouse or dependent hoping to use it in store, check with the store or Customer Service first. To stack legitimate savings, join the free Famously YOU Rewards program — its Reward Cash is the one thing that does combine with the military discount — and note Reward Cash also works with BOGO 1/2 Off events (the military code does not).
Exclusions & fine print
- Cannot be stacked, redeemed for cash, or combined with any other promotions or offers — combinable only with Rewards Cash. (A third-party listing claimed it stacks with BOGO 1/2 Off; the official terms say it cannot be combined — follow the official terms.)
- Excluded brands (per the official Exclusions/Discount Terms): Bates, Birkenstock, BOGS, Brooks, Caterpillar, Crocs, Dansko, Diff Eyewear, Dr. Martens, Havaianas, Hunter, HydroJug, Jambu, Jansport, New Era, SOREL, and "select" adidas, ASICS, Converse, Dr. Scholl’s, Frye and Co., HEYDUDE, Jordan, Naturalizer, New Balance, Nike, PUMA, Steve Madden, Teva, Timberland, Vans, and Vionic.
- Not valid on gift cards or previously purchased merchandise; not for cash or cash equivalent. Limit up to 21 items per code/purchase; one transaction per person per discount.
- Online: up to five discount codes per person per 30 days; codes expire 11:59 PM CST on December 31 of the year issued; lost/stolen codes are not replaced. Must be 18+. U.S. only.

All military & veteran discountsEditorial policy
- Source priority. We cite Famous Footwear’s own discount-program and exclusions pages first. The everyday 10% (online + in store), SheerID online verification / in-store military ID, the caps (up to 21 items per code; five codes per person per 30 days; codes expire Dec 31 of year issued; 18+; U.S. only), no-stacking rule (combinable only with Rewards Cash), and the excluded-brand list are from those pages. The ONLINE eligibility is broad (active duty, reserve/Guard, veteran/retiree, spouse, dependents, families incl. Gold Star); the IN-STORE FAQ is narrower (active duty, reserve/Guard, veteran/retiree) — so spouses/dependents/Gold Star should confirm in-store acceptance. Famous Footwear uses SheerID (a Famous Footwear listing also appears on ID.me, but the brand’s page routes online verification to SheerID). A third-party claim that it combines with BOGO 1/2 Off conflicts with the official "not combinable" terms — we follow the official terms. No first-responder/teacher/nurse/gov/student offer is stated.

- Review cadence. Because Famous Footwear can change these terms at any time, the offer is re-verified against the official page on a recurring basis and whenever a reader reports a change.
