Planet Fitness Military & Veteran Discount

No nationwide Planet Fitness military or veteran discount is advertised — here’s what the clubs actually publish, what to ask locally, and how military families can still save.

Does Planet Fitness offer a military discount? Based on Planet Fitness’ public U.S. membership and perks pages, Planet Fitness does not currently advertise a standard nationwide military or veteran discount. That means there is no official national ID.me, GovX, or SheerID verification flow to unlock a military-only rate online.

That said, Planet Fitness pricing and promotions can vary by location because clubs are independently owned and operated. Before you join, check your local club’s current online offer and ask the front desk whether it has any local discounts for active-duty military, veterans, first responders, students, teachers, government employees, or military families.

This independent guide explains what Planet Fitness publishes publicly, what to ask your local club, and the best legitimate ways military families can save on a membership. We link straight to Planet Fitness’ official pages so you can confirm the current terms before you decide.

WHO QUALIFIES

Planet Fitness does not advertise a standard nationwide military or veteran discount. Because clubs are independently owned and operated, any military pricing is set locally — so check your home club, and compare its Classic ($15/mo) and PF Black Card ($24.99/mo) join offers.

  • No national military eligibility list is published — Planet Fitness does not advertise a nationwide military or veteran rate.
  • Because clubs are independently owned and operated, ask your local home club whether it runs any of the promotions below.
  • Active-duty service members, veterans, and military retirees — ask the club directly.
  • Reserve and National Guard members, military spouses, and dependents.
  • First responders, teachers, government employees, students, and local employer or union groups.
  • Teens ages 14–19 in military families may use the free High School Summer Pass through August 31 (not a military benefit, but relevant to families).

HOW TO REDEEM

Online at www.planetfitness.com

  1. Find your local club
Go to planetfitness.com and search your ZIP code to open the club you plan to use as your home club.
  2. Open the club’s current offer
View the club’s "Review Plans" / join page and compare Classic vs. PF Black Card pricing, startup fees, commitment length, the $49 annual fee, and taxes.
  3. Look for local join promotions
Watch for local deals such as "$1 down", a waived startup fee, no-commitment terms, or a special monthly rate — these often save more than a military discount would.
  4. Ask before you join
If no military option appears online, call the club and ask whether a military, veteran, first-responder, student, or employer offer exists locally before you sign up.

In store

  1. Visit your home club
Go to the Planet Fitness location you plan to use and speak with the front desk.
  2. Ask about local promotions
Ask whether that club has a military, veteran, first-responder, student, teacher, government, employer, or family promotion.
  3. Confirm what changes
Ask whether the offer changes the monthly rate, startup fee, annual fee, commitment length, or cancellation terms — and what proof is required before you hand over documents.
  4. Get it in writing
Before signing, get the final monthly cost, startup cost, annual fee, billing date, commitment term, and cancellation method in writing.

HOW IT WORKS

Planet Fitness publicly lists two main membership types. The Classic membership starts at $15/month plus taxes and fees and gives unlimited access to your home club. The PF Black Card starts at $24.99/month plus taxes and fees and adds access to any of 2,700+ locations, a free guest every visit, premium app workouts, PF Perks partner offers, and select Black Card spa amenities at participating locations.

Watch the fine print: memberships may include a 12-month commitment, a $49 annual fee may apply, state and local taxes may apply, and prices, services, and perks vary by location because clubs are independently owned and operated. The everyday local join offer in the online flow — for example a reduced startup fee or a no-commitment promotion — is often a bigger saving than a military rate would be, so it is worth comparing first.

Even without a national military discount, military families have several legitimate ways to save: check the local join offer in the online club flow, ask the home club about any local military or community promotion, use referral savings (Planet Fitness says members can earn a free month per friend who joins, up to 3 months a year), review PF Perks after joining, and use the free High School Summer Pass for teens ages 14–19 through August 31 at participating locations. None of these is a military benefit, but each can lower the real cost of belonging.

Exclusions & fine print

  • No national military discount amount is verified — none is advertised on Planet Fitness’ public U.S. pages.
  • No national verification provider (ID.me, GovX, or SheerID) for a Planet Fitness military discount was found.
  • Local club promotions vary, are not guaranteed, and can change at any time.
  • Startup fees, the $49 annual fee, commitment terms, taxes, cancellation rules, amenities, and availability vary by location.
  • PF Black Card amenities such as spa services are available at participating locations only.
  • Referral free months, PF Perks partner offers, and the High School Summer Pass are separate programs — not a military discount.
  • Always confirm every term with your home club before joining.

U-Haul has no military or veteran discount — no code and no percentage off, and the "10%/15% military" figures on coupon sites are fabricated. What is real: one free month of storage for a qualifying PCS/PPM military move, claimed with DD Form 2278 or a one-way rental.

HOKA has no military discount — no military category in its program, no GovX HOKA store, and ID.me confirms no HOKA military offer. A service member’s best deal is one of: HOKA’s first-responder/medical discount via ID.me (if eligible), Foot Locker’s 10% military rate, stacking a sale with the top cashback portal, or the Exchange.

Theragun’s parent brand Therabody gives a real 20% military, veteran, medical, and first-responder discount on full-price items via ID.me (students and teachers get 10%). But it can’t stack on sales, and during Therabody’s frequent 30–50% sale events the public price beats the 20% — so timing the purchase matters more than the code.

Discount Tire gives a real 5% military discount (active duty, veterans, reserves + families) via ID.me or military ID — and unlike most brands it’s explicitly combinable, so you stack it with manufacturer rebates and instant savings on one invoice. The one wall: it can’t combine with the Discount Tire credit card, so on a big cart the card’s 15% Visa rebate can win instead.
