HOW IT WORKS
Verification happens at claim time through the sbdheroprogram.com portal rather than a storefront ID.me or SheerID gate. You buy the qualifying product from an Independent Dealer, register it within 10 days, then upload proof of service (DD-214 with SSN covered, VA ID card, veteran-designated license, or departmental ID) along with the dealer invoice within 30 days. Military CAC cards are not accepted.
The rebate tiers are model-specific: $300 on ZTX, ZTXS, PRO Z HW 300, and PRO Z 100 series, and $500 on PRO Z 500/700/900 and PRO X series. On a roughly $6,000 PRO Z 500-series zero-turn, the $500 rebate brings the effective price to about $5,500. Homeowner riding mowers and push mowers do not qualify at all.
Two things to plan for. First, the rebate cannot be combined with any other offer, demo, or promotion — so negotiate the dealer price first, since the rebate stacks on top of your agreed price but not on top of other Cub Cadet promotions. Second, coupon aggregators advertising a "Cub Cadet military discount: save up to $500 off your order" at checkout are misleading — the $500 is the maximum rebate tier, paid after purchase, on qualifying PRO equipment only.
