SeaWorld Military & Veteran Discount
Active duty and family go free once a year via Waves of Honor; veterans get a seasonal May free window plus 50% off and a $161 unlimited pass — all verified once through ID.me.
SeaWorld’s Waves of Honor program is one of the strongest military offers in the theme-park world — and it’s real, run by SeaWorld’s parent United Parks & Resorts and verified through ID.me on SeaWorld’s own site. If you’re active-duty U.S. military, an activated or drilling reservist, or National Guard, you get one free single-day admission per year for yourself plus up to three direct dependents, so an entire family of four can visit free. You can also add up to six guest tickets at 50% off. The free active-duty offer is valid through December 31, 2026.
Veterans and retirees don’t get year-round free admission, but there are two strong routes: SeaWorld runs an annual free-admission window for veterans (plus up to three guests) during Military Appreciation Month in May, and year-round you can get 50% off single-day tickets (up to six) or a Military Silver Annual Pass for $161 (regularly $279) with unlimited visits, free parking, and in-park discounts.
You verify once through ID.me, then bring a valid U.S. military ID or proof of service to the gate. This is an independent guide — we’re not affiliated with SeaWorld, United Parks & Resorts, or ID.me, and terms can change at any time.

WHO QUALIFIES
Through SeaWorld’s Waves of Honor program, active-duty U.S. military, activated/drilling reservists, and National Guard get one free single-day admission per year for themselves plus up to three direct dependents — so a family of four can visit free — valid through December 31, 2026. Veterans and retirees don’t get year-round free admission, but they get a seasonal May free-admission window, 50% off single-day tickets (up to six), and a $161 Military Silver Annual Pass. Everything is verified once through ID.me.
- Active-duty U.S. military — one free single-day admission per year for the member plus up to three direct dependents, plus up to six additional guest tickets at 50% off.
- Activated or drilling reservists and National Guard members — the same free comp as active duty.
- Direct dependents — covered by the active-duty free comp (up to three); once ID.me-verified, dependents can even visit without the service member.
- Veterans and military retirees — a free-admission window during the May Military Appreciation Month event (self + up to three guests), plus year-round 50% off single-day tickets and the $161 Military Silver Annual Pass.
- Military spouses — access veteran-tier offers by logging in under the veteran’s ID.me account.
- DoD civilians and non-U.S. military — not eligible for the year-round active-duty free comp; Waves of Honor is U.S. military only.

HOW TO REDEEM
Online at seaworld.com
- Open the SeaWorld military-discount pageGo to the Waves of Honor / military-discount page for your park on seaworld.com (active-duty and veteran pages are separate).
- Verify with ID.meLog in to — or create — a free ID.me account (its military product is branded "Troop ID") and confirm your status. Verification is a one-time setup reused across ID.me partners.
- Select your tickets or passActive duty: select your one free admission plus up to three direct-dependent tickets, and optionally up to six guest tickets at 50% off. Veterans/retirees: register for the May free window when it’s open, or buy 50%-off single-day tickets or the $161 Military Silver Annual Pass. The Silver Pass and veteran offers are online only, not sold at the park.
- Show your military ID at the gatePrint or download your tickets and bring a valid U.S. military ID or proof of service to the front gate. Redeem the active-duty comp/discounted single-day tickets by December 31, 2026.
In store
- Buy online first — most offers are not sold at the parkThe Silver Pass and veteran offers are "not available for purchase at the park," so verify and buy online via ID.me before you go. Base MWR/ITT ticket offices are an alternate distribution channel.
- Bring a valid U.S. military ID to the gateEven after online ID.me verification, a physical U.S. military ID or proof of service is required at the park gate. For discounted guest tickets the service member or veteran must be present with the guests.
HOW IT WORKS
The active-duty benefit is the headline: one complimentary single-day admission per year for the service member and as many as three direct dependents, redeemable at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place (one park per visit). Dependents can print their own tickets and, once ID.me-verified, may even visit without the member. Discovery Cove and Aquatica are excluded from the free comp. The offer expires December 31, 2026 and renews each calendar year.
For veterans and retirees the picture is different. The most valuable veteran deal is the annual Military Appreciation Month free-admission window in May — in 2026 the national window ran through June 30 to visit, and SeaWorld San Diego’s veteran free admission runs through July 31, 2026. Outside that window, veterans and retirees get 50% off single-day tickets (up to six; San Diego 55%) or the $161 Military Silver Annual Pass. SeaWorld’s veteran free-admission event is tied to May, not Veterans Day — we found no documented November freebie.
A note on how much it saves: each Waves of Honor offer is a standalone entitlement — there’s no coupon code, cashback portal, or public sale to stack. The free or discounted ticket is the price. If you or the family will visit two or more times in a year, the Military Silver Annual Pass (unlimited, no blockouts, free parking, three free guest tickets, up to 20% off in-park) beats repeat single-day buys quickly.
Exclusions & fine print
- The year-round free comp is active-duty / activated reservist / Guard only — military retirees and DoD civilians do not get it (retirees use the veteran-tier offers).
- The free comp is redeemable at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place (one park per visit); Discovery Cove and Aquatica are excluded (Discovery Cove has a separate discounted military rate).
- Veteran free admission is a seasonal (May Military Appreciation Month) annual offer with register-by / visit-by deadlines — not an everyday veteran freebie, and not a Veterans Day (November) offer.
- The Silver Pass and veteran offers are online only and are not sold at the park.
- 50%-off guest tickets and veteran guest tickets require the service member / veteran to be present, and exclude separately-ticketed events such as Howl-O-Scream.
- U.S. military only. The comp and discounted single-day tickets expire December 31, 2026; dates and prices vary by park.
