Buffalo Wild Wings Military & Veteran Discount
No official everyday military discount — the 10% is franchise-by-franchise. The real offer is the annual Veterans Day free wings meal, and Boneless Thursday BOGO beats the maybe-10% the rest of the year.
Buffalo Wild Wings doesn’t run an official, chain-wide military discount. Some franchise locations choose to give roughly 10% off to service members and veterans who show ID — but it’s a store-by-store courtesy, not a corporate program, and neither ID.me nor any other verification service partners with BWW.
What Buffalo Wild Wings does do, reliably, is Veterans Day: every year we’ve checked (2019, 2021, 2024, 2025), veterans and active-duty service members got a free order of boneless wings and fries on November 11 — dine-in, with proof of service. The rest of the year, the honest best deal is public: Boneless Thursday BOGO through the BWW app beats a maybe-10% every time.
This is an independent guide. We’re not affiliated with Buffalo Wild Wings, and BWW (and its franchisees) control these offers and can change them at any time.

The Thursday play that beats the "military discount" all year
The everyday 10% is a maybe; the public deals are math:
- Join BWW Rewards free — 10 points per $1 (12 after $250/year), and it’s the only layer that stacks on top of every other offer.
- Order boneless wings on a Thursday through the BWW app or dine-in: buy one order, get one of equal or lesser value FREE — roughly $8.50 of free food on a $25 order, versus $2.50 from a granted 10%.
- Still ask about the local military 10% on non-BOGO orders — some franchises honor it with military ID. Treat it as a bonus, never a plan.
- Circle November 11: veterans and active duty have gotten 10 free boneless wings + fries every year we checked since 2019 — dine-in with proof of service.
BOGOs exclude third-party delivery and don’t combine with other discounts, the free meal has no substitutions or add-ons, and franchise participation varies for everything.
BEST SAVINGS PATH
The smartest route depends on your situation. Answer the two questions to find your best path, or scan the full decision table below.
Find your best path
1. Is it Veterans Day (November 11)?
2. Is it a Tuesday or Thursday?
Short version: there’s no official BWW military discount — join free BWW Rewards, order boneless on Thursdays for the BOGO, ask (don’t count on) the local 10%, and show up with proof of service on November 11 for the free Wings for Heroes meal.
Veterans and active duty get 10 free boneless wings + fries with proof of service — dine-in or BWW GO counter. Unbeatable; just call ahead, since franchisee participation can vary.
The free meal beats any BOGO. Bring proof of service (military ID, VA card, veteran-designated license, or veterans-org card) and order dine-in or at a BWW GO counter.
Boneless Thursday: second boneless order free. Wing Tuesday: second traditional order 50% off (free for dine-in Rewards members per BWW’s FAQ copy). Roughly $8.50 of free food on a $25 order — the maybe-10% saves $2.50.
Give your Rewards number on every order (points stack with everything), and ask whether your location honors a military discount before you pay — some franchises do, none are required to.
| Path | Stack | Effective price | You save | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Veterans Day free meal (November 11) | None — no substitutions/add-ons; pay for drinks/extras | ~$8.50 (wings + fries free; pay drink + side) | ~$16.50 | You’re a veteran or active duty, dining in on November 11 |
| Boneless Thursday BOGO (public) | Cannot combine with other discounts; Rewards points still earn | $25 for double the wings (~50% off the wings line) | ~$8.50 of free food | Any Thursday, ordering boneless via the BWW app/web or dine-in |
| Wing Tuesday BOGO (traditional wings) | Same no-combining terms | Second traditional order 50% off (free for dine-in Rewards members per BWW’s FAQ copy) | ~$4–$8.50 | Tuesdays, traditional wings |
| Everyday franchise 10% (discretionary) | Unknown/at register; assume nothing combines | $22.50 if granted | $2.50 | Your local store confirms it honors a military discount |
| Gift-card bonus windows | Coupons: food/non-alcoholic only; no third-party delivery | ~17% back in food coupons ($10 per $50) when a window is live | ~$4–$5 per $25 spent | A bonus window is running (most recent: April 27 – June 21, 2026) |
| BWW Rewards (always) | Stacks with promo codes and layers under everything above | $25 now, food rewards later | Deferred food value | Always — free to join, works on every path |
WHO QUALIFIES
Buffalo Wild Wings has no official, chain-wide everyday military discount — the widely repeated 10% is franchise-location discretion. The one corporate-promoted military offer is the annual Veterans Day free meal: in 2025, 10 free boneless wings plus fries for veterans and active-duty service members with proof of service, dine-in or BWW GO counter only.
- Veterans Day free meal: veterans and active-duty service members, with valid proof of service (2025 terms as reported). One meal per eligible person.
- Retirees: the 2019/2021 corporate press releases said "active and retired military personnel," while 2025 copy said "veterans and active-duty" — retirees qualify as veterans in practice, but corporate wording varies year to year.
- Reserve / National Guard: not stated in official sources (listing sites report reservists included — unverified).
- Military spouses and dependents: not stated — the Veterans Day meal is for the service member or veteran only.
- Everyday ~10%: whoever the local franchise chooses to honor — it’s a store-by-store courtesy, not a program.
- First responders, teachers, nurses, students, government employees: no offer found in any official source.

HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.buffalowildwings.com
- There is no online military pathNo military field, code, or verification exists on buffalowildwings.com or in the app — everything military at BWW happens in person.
- Use the public BOGO deals insteadBoneless Thursday: buy one boneless order, get one free. Wing Tuesday: second traditional order 50% off (BWW’s FAQ copy says free for dine-in Rewards members). Order via the BWW app/site — third-party delivery is excluded.
- Join BWW Rewards (free)10 points per $1 (12 after $250/year), and points/certificates can be earned and redeemed on the same order as a promo code — the only layer that stacks.
In store

- Show proof of serviceAccepted forms per the 2024–2025 offers: military ID, VA card, driver’s license with veteran designation, or a veterans-organization membership card.

HOW IT WORKS
The debunk first: aggregators present a "10% Buffalo Wild Wings military discount" as a standard program, and coupon sites advertise "20% off" BWW codes. Neither is real as described. BWW’s corporate FAQ and site never mention a military discount, ID.me states it is "not aware that Buffalo Wild Wings offers Military discounts," and WeSalute itself labels the 10% a non-partner "community deal" that "varies by location" and can’t be guaranteed. There is no military promo code — and BWW’s own FAQ caps orders at one promo code regardless.
The Veterans Day meal is the real, corporate-promoted offer, and its shape has been consistent: in 2025 ("Wings for Heroes," November 11), veterans and active-duty service members got 10 free boneless wings and regular fries with valid proof of service — dine-in or a walk-in counter order at BWW GO, no delivery or third-party apps, no substitutions or add-ons, one per person. Accepted proof in 2024–2025 included a military ID, VA card, driver’s license with veteran designation, or a veterans-organization card. Franchisee participation can vary, so call ahead — and check back in late October for the 2026 terms.
The everyday math favors the public deals over the maybe-10%. On a ~$25 order, a granted franchise discount saves about $2.50; Boneless Thursday BOGO gets you a second boneless order free (roughly 50% off the wings line, ~$8.50 of free food), and Wing Tuesday takes 50% off a second traditional order. The BOGOs run through the BWW app/site or dine-in, exclude third-party delivery, and explicitly don’t combine with other discounts — so you couldn’t stack the 10% on them anyway. BWW Rewards is the only true layer: free to join, 10 points per $1 (12 after $250 a year), and points earn and redeem even on promo-code orders.
Two more levers: BWW runs gift-card bonus windows (most recently $10 in bonus coupons per $50 of gift cards bought April 27 – June 21, 2026, redeemable June 22 – July 31, 2026 on food and non-alcoholic drinks), and warehouse clubs rotate discounted BWW gift-card multipacks in and out of stock. There’s no GovX, cashback-portal, or exchange path for a restaurant chain — and no first responder, teacher, nurse, or student program in any official source. For Memorial Day and Military Appreciation Month, no corporate offer was found for 2024–2026; individual locations honoring 10% in May is franchise discretion, not a chain promotion.
Exclusions & fine print
- No official everyday military discount exists — any 10% is franchise discretion, and neither ID.me nor WeSalute has a BWW partnership.
- Veterans Day meal (2025 terms): dine-in or BWW GO counter only; no delivery or third-party apps; no substitutions or add-ons; drinks and gratuity not included; one per person.
- BOGO deals "may not be combined with other discounts or offers" (limit 1; third-party delivery excluded) — so no military 10% on top of a BOGO order.
- One promo code per order (corporate FAQ) — and no military promo code exists anyway.
- Gift-card bonus coupons: food/non-alcoholic only, not combinable with employee discounts, no third-party delivery, time-boxed windows.
- Franchise participation varies for everything — about half of US locations are franchised.

All military & veteran discountsEditorial policy
- Source priority. We checked Buffalo Wild Wings’ own corporate FAQ and site (no military discount is mentioned anywhere), ID.me’s BWW page (explicitly "not aware" of any offer), and WeSalute’s listing (a non-partner "community deal" that "varies by location" and isn’t guaranteed). The Veterans Day meal details come from Inspire Brands’ own press releases (2019, 2021) and dated 2024–2025 offer coverage. We repeat no aggregator "20% off military code" claims — no military promo code exists, and BWW caps orders at one promo code anyway.
