HOW IT WORKS

Verification is handled by ID.me, the same identity service used by the VA, the IRS, and many retailers. You verify your military status once; ID.me lets you reuse it across participating retailers, though it may re-verify or require re-authentication at its discretion, so don’t assume it’s permanent. If verification stalls, Tecovas directs customers to ID.me support and, if issues persist, to email howdy@tecovas.com.

Tecovas names only active duty, retirees, and veterans for the military discount. It does not list Reserve/National Guard, spouses, or dependents — ID.me’s standard military community often includes those groups, but because Tecovas doesn’t name them, the honest answer for any of those is "confirm it during ID.me verification." There is also no standing first responder, nurse, teacher, or government discount; enrolled students get a separate 10% via ID.me.

Two timing notes. The everyday rate is 10% and can’t be stacked, so when an item is in Tecovas’s Last Call markdown section, compare the Last Call price against 10% off full price and take the lower. And around Veterans Day, Tecovas has historically raised the military discount to 20% for a single day (it did so on Nov 11, 2024) — that was a separate, expired promotion, not the everyday rate, so watch tecovas.com/p/veterans-day in early November for any renewed offer.

Exclusions & fine print

The historical Veterans Day 20% offer (one day, Nov 11, 2024) is expired and is not the everyday rate; its promo-specific terms (gift-card exclusions, continental-U.S.-only shipping, no wholesale-partner purchases) applied to that promotion, not necessarily the everyday 10%.
Aggregator claims of a Tecovas "15% first responder discount," USAA verification, or a mobile-app redemption channel are not supported by Tecovas’s page or its live ID.me store page — the store page lists no first responder offer.
