The competing path matters more than usual here. Rakuten’s NordVPN store page lists 98% cashback for new customers (as of July 14, 2026, listed as "previously 20%"), which reduces a roughly $94 two-year Basic plan to about $2 net after the payout. But Rakuten’s terms void cashback when you use a coupon code that isn’t listed on Rakuten — and the GoCertify military code is exactly that. Pick one: for new customers while the elevated rate is live, cashback wins decisively; for renewals (cashback is first-sign-up-only) or if you’d rather skip portals, the military 15% is the play. Deal-forum shoppers report the Rakuten rate fluctuating between roughly 97% and 100% over 2026 — a signal the elevated rate recurs, not a promise it’s live on any given day.

Ignore the coupon-site noise. Pages advertising an "83% off NordVPN military code" and similar stacked-percentage claims are just restating the public promo — the only verified official military mechanic is GoCertify’s extra 15% on top of the standing promo, and nothing verified supports a standalone military coupon code that works without GoCertify verification.

One caveat applies to every path: NordVPN’s pricing is intro-term pricing. A two-year Basic plan runs roughly $83–$94 upfront at current promo rates (NordVPN’s own pricing page blocks automated checks, so spot-check the live price), and every plan renews at a much higher standard rate after the first term. Whether the military code can be re-used at renewal is not stated — buy the longest term you’ll actually use and set a calendar reminder before auto-renewal.
