John Deere Military & Veteran Discount
Free Platinum John Deere Rewards via ID.me — fixed dollar discounts by equipment class that stack with dealer sales, not a flat percentage.
John Deere doesn’t offer a flat “military percentage off,” despite what coupon sites claim. What it offers is arguably better for big purchases: free, automatic Platinum-tier membership in John Deere Rewards through its Military Service Program, verified with ID.me. Normally you’d have to buy two pieces of equipment in a year to reach Platinum; active-duty, retired, veteran, National Guard and Reserve service members — and eligible spouses — get there instantly and free, for a renewable two-year term.
Platinum 1 unlocks fixed dollar discounts that depend on what you’re buying — roughly $50–$150 off residential mowers, $150–$250 off tractors, $100–$250 off Gator utility vehicles, and $200–$1,700 off commercial mowing equipment. The real advantage: these discounts stack with John Deere’s national/affiliate offers and with current dealer sales and special financing, so the savings compound — especially on higher-priced machines. First responders and medical workers get the same Platinum upgrade through a separate program called Everyday Heroes.
This is an independent guide — we’re not affiliated with John Deere, ID.me, or any dealer, and John Deere controls the program and can change its terms at any time.

WHO QUALIFIES
John Deere doesn’t give a flat “military percentage off.” Its Military Service Program grants active, retired, veteran, and Guard/Reserve service members and eligible spouses free, automatic Platinum John Deere Rewards — verified with ID.me — which unlocks fixed dollar discounts by equipment class (roughly $50–$1,700) that stack with national/affiliate offers and dealer sales.
- Active-duty service members across all branches — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, and Reserves.
- Veterans and military retirees with a verifiable service history.
- Eligible military spouses.
- First responders (law enforcement, firefighters, EMT/paramedics, 911 dispatchers) and medical providers/hospital workers qualify for the same free Platinum upgrade — but through a separate John Deere program called Everyday Heroes, not the Military Service Program.
- Note: a standard Military ID/CAC card is NOT accepted for verification. Use a driver’s license with veteran designation, a Veteran ID Card (VIC), a Veteran Health ID Card (VHIC), an SCRA certificate, a DD-214 (SSN redacted), or Guard/Reserve orders.

In store
- Enroll and verify firstComplete ID.me verification online so you have a Rewards number before visiting the dealer.
- Give your Rewards number to the dealerAt a participating John Deere dealer, provide your Rewards number before the sale is written up.
- Confirm all discounts are appliedMake sure the Platinum equipment discount, any national/affiliate discount, and any current dealer sale or special financing are all applied — they can combine.
HOW IT WORKS
John Deere’s “military discount” is not a percentage. Through the Military Service Program, qualifying service members receive a free two-unit affiliation credit that lifts them straight to Platinum 1 in John Deere Rewards — the tier a normal customer only reaches after two qualifying purchases in twelve months. Platinum then unlocks the equipment discounts, applied at deere.com, in the John Deere app, or at participating dealers when you provide your Rewards number.
The stacking is the whole game. John Deere states these Platinum discounts can be combined with its national/affiliate offers, and dealer program pages confirm they also combine with current dealer sales and special financing. That combinability matters far more on a Gator, a 1–5 Series tractor, or a commercial mower — where the Platinum discount runs to $1,700 — than on a $2,600 residential mower where it caps around $150.
Two corrections worth making: aggregators claim a “10%” or “10–25% John Deere military discount” — that percentage does not exist. And some listicles say to verify through GovX; the confirmed on-site partner is ID.me, and no John Deere equipment-Rewards GovX storefront was verified. Because deere.com returned an access error to our automated fetch on the verify date, treat the per-category dollar ranges as a starting point and confirm the current figure for your machine with the dealer.
If you don’t qualify for the military program or Everyday Heroes, a national affiliate such as a Farm Bureau membership (roughly $25–$60/year) buys the same Platinum 1 tier — worth it above about $1,000 of equipment.
Exclusions & fine print
- The benefit is Rewards access, not a percentage — savings are fixed dollar amounts by equipment category and apply only to select/qualifying equipment.
- Discount figures vary by category and can change; confirm the exact amount for your machine with the dealer.
- A standard Military ID/CAC card is not accepted for verification, and membership must be renewed every two years.
- There is no discount specifically tied to Veterans Day.
- Parts/merchandise discounts and special financing are separate benefits with their own terms; specific exclusions are governed by the John Deere Rewards Terms & Conditions.
