Outback Steakhouse Military & Veteran Discount
10% off your entire check, all day every day, for military veterans, servicemembers, first responders, and medical staff — verified in person, no ID.me required.
Yes — Outback Steakhouse offers a real, everyday 10% "Heroes Discount" off your entire check for military veterans and servicemembers (plus their immediate family), police, firefighters, first responders, nurses, doctors and medical staff, with a valid ID. It’s published on Outback’s own site and runs all day, every day — but it excludes alcohol and tax, and it only works dine-in or by calling the restaurant, not through online ordering.
Once a year, Outback has also run a Veterans Day event (historically a free entrée) that is worth far more than 10% for a single visit — terms change annually, so confirm the current-year offer close to the date. And note one either/or: the 10% won’t combine with a Dine Rewards reward or the AARP discount, so on a big-entrée check, compare before you choose.
This is an independent guide, not affiliated with Outback Steakhouse or Bloomin’ Brands. Outback controls these terms and can change them at any time — confirm at your restaurant before you order.

HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.outback.com
- There is no online discount codeThe Heroes Discount is explicitly not available via online ordering on outback.com or the app. To use it, call the restaurant to place your order instead — see "Redeem by phone / in store" below.
In store
- Dine in, or call to orderDine in at a participating Outback, or call the restaurant directly to place a to-go order. Online ordering does not honor the discount.
- Ask for the Heroes DiscountTell your server, or the phone order-taker, that you’d like the Heroes Discount applied.
- Show a valid accepted IDPresent a valid ID when you pay at the restaurant: Uniformed Services ID, Retired ID, current LES, Veterans Organization card (VFW/American Legion), DD214, Veteran ID Card, a photo in/wearing U.S. uniform, or a state/federal service or medical ID.
- Save 10% on food and non-alcoholic drinks10% comes off your check total, excluding alcohol and applicable taxes. If you have a Dine Rewards reward or the AARP discount banked, you must choose one — pick whichever saves more on that check.
HOW IT WORKS
The Heroes Discount is verified in person — there is no ID.me, GovX, SheerID, or app-based verification for it. You simply show a valid accepted ID to Outback staff when you pay: a Uniformed Services ID, Retired ID, current Leave & Earnings Statement, a Veterans Organization card (VFW/American Legion), DD214, Veteran ID Card, or a photo in/wearing U.S. uniform.
Because it is dine-in / call-in only, the discount will not appear at outback.com or app checkout. If you want it on a to-go order, call the restaurant directly, ask for the Heroes Discount, and pay in person so staff can check your ID.
One thing to watch: some coupon aggregators and older coverage cite a 20% Outback military discount. That figure traces to a one-off Armed Forces Day promotion reported in the past, not Outback’s standing policy. The only everyday, brand-published rate is 10%, dine-in/call-in, excluding alcohol and tax.
The discount also does not stack with Outback’s Dine Rewards loyalty program or the AARP membership discount — both are treated as alternatives to the 10%, so on an entrée-heavy check with a banked Dine Rewards perk, it’s worth comparing which one actually saves more before you order.
Exclusions & fine print
- Alcohol and applicable taxes are excluded from the 10% discount.
- Limited to one discount per table.
- Not combinable with any Dine Rewards™ redemption, the AARP® membership discount, or catering orders.
- Not available via online ordering — dine-in or call-in only.
- No cash value; void where prohibited by law.
