Norwegian Cruise Line’s Military Appreciation Program gives eligible service members and their families 10% off the cruise fare portion of any cruise, available year-round. It covers active-duty members, veterans, spouses, and surviving spouses of nine U.S. uniformed services branches, with status verified through ID.me.

To use it, create a free My NCL account, verify once through ID.me, and your discounted price will show automatically at checkout whenever you’re logged in. You can also book through a travel advisor. NCL says you only need to verify once — you won’t have to re-verify for future bookings.

WHO QUALIFIES

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Military Appreciation Program gives validated members 10% off the cruise fare portion of any cruise, year-round. It covers active members, veterans, spouses, and surviving spouses of nine U.S. uniformed services, verified via ID.me. HOW TO REDEEM

HOW IT WORKS

NCL uses ID.me, a third-party verification service. You must create a free My NCL account and verify your military status through ID.me before booking to receive the discount — verification is described by NCL as a one-time step ("You won’t ever need to verify again"). After verifying and while logged in, your 10% appears automatically in checkout pricing. If you have trouble enrolling, NCL provides a support path in its FAQ. (ID.me itself may have its own account and re-authentication requirements; this reflects only what NCL states about NCL-side verification.)

Two things to keep straight on value. First, the 10% applies to the cruise fare portion only, so taxes, fees, and onboard charges aren’t discounted. Second, be skeptical of the "20% off select cruises" figure that circulates on third-party sites — it isn’t in NCL’s own verified FAQ copy, so treat 10% as the confirmed number. On the plus side, NCL states the military discount is combinable with its Free at Sea promotion (open bar, specialty dining, Wi-Fi, and excursion credits — terms vary) and with other available promotions, though those can change.

A few specifics NCL addresses in dedicated FAQs rather than the main pages — whether the discount applies to your whole group, to multiple cabins, or to a spouse traveling without the member — so pull the exact answer before you count on it. To save more, cruisers can layer NCL’s Latitudes Rewards loyalty benefits or book through a travel advisor who may add group rates or onboard credit. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Princess also offer military rates worth comparing, with different terms per line.
