Tesla Military & Veteran Discount
$500 off a new Model S, 3, X, Y, or Cybertruck for verified military, veterans, and spouses — verified through ID.me.
Tesla offers verified U.S. military members — veterans, retirees, active-duty personnel, their spouses, and surviving spouses — $500 off a new Tesla through its Military, First Responder, Healthcare, Teacher and Student Purchase Program (the "Everyday Heroes" program). The same $500 benefit also extends to first responders, medical providers, nurses, students, and teachers.
To get it, you verify your status through ID.me before you order. Once verified, Tesla redirects you to its Design Studio and the $500 is deducted from your new vehicle’s purchase price (pre-tax) before you place the order. It can’t be added after you’ve ordered or taken delivery, and it doesn’t apply to used vehicles.
This is an independent guide. NavyWeek is not affiliated with Tesla. Tesla sets and controls these terms and can change or end the offer at any time — always confirm details on Tesla’s official American Heroes page before ordering.

WHO QUALIFIES
Tesla gives verified U.S. military members — and first responders, medical providers, nurses, teachers, and students — $500 off a new Model S, 3, X, Y, or Cybertruck, verified through ID.me before you order.
- Active-duty military, including National Guard and Reserves (per ID.me’s military community).
- Veterans discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.
- Military retirees.
- Military spouses and surviving spouses.
- Immediate military family members, age 18+, per ID.me’s military community definition.
- First responders, medical providers and nurses, teachers, and students — the same $500 program, each verified through ID.me.
- Not eligible (per ID.me): civilian DoD employees, Coast Guard Auxiliary, less-than-honorable discharges, and non-U.S. military. A general "government employee" group is not listed by Tesla.

HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.tesla.com
- Open Tesla’s American Heroes pageGo to tesla.com/american-heroes.
- Verify through ID.meSign in to or create an ID.me account and confirm your military or other eligible status.
- Design your new vehicleAfter successful verification you’re redirected to Tesla’s Design Studio. Configure your new Model S, 3, X, Y, or Cybertruck.
- Confirm the $500 and orderThe $500 adjustment appears on the purchase price (pre-tax) before you place the order. Confirm it’s applied, then order. The purchaser must match the ID.me account holder.
HOW IT WORKS
Verification is handled by ID.me. You must verify your eligible status before placing the order; once verified, the adjustment appears before you order, and an ID.me account is required with the purchaser matching the account holder. Tesla does not publish a re-verification frequency for this discount; ID.me’s own status verification governs how and when your status is confirmed. If automatic verification fails, ID.me’s support path is the route to resolve it.
The discount stacks with Tesla’s current finance offers and Refer & Earn, but not between hero groups (one affiliation per order). Because Tesla rarely discounts new vehicles directly, this $500 — plus a stackable referral or finance offer — is one of the few official ways to reduce a new-Tesla price. Check Tesla’s Current Offers page for any active incentives.
Older sources citing a $1,000 Tesla discount are out of date: that was the launch amount, reduced to $500 around October 2025. Tesla’s current pages (American Heroes; Honoring Our Country, last updated November 2025) state $500 and list the Cybertruck among eligible new models alongside Model S, 3, X, and Y.
Exclusions & fine print
- Used vehicles are not eligible — new vehicles only.
- Must verify and apply before delivery; the discount cannot be applied retroactively.
- Not transferable and not redeemable for cash.
- Only one affiliation per order — it does not stack between hero groups (but it does stack with Tesla’s current finance offers and Refer & Earn).
- The offer is subject to change or end at any time without notice (it was reduced from $1,000 to $500 in October 2025), and the purchaser must match the ID.me account holder.
