Aulani Military Discount — Disney’s Hawaii Resort
Disney’s Aulani in Hawaiʻi gives eligible active and retired military up to 25–35% off select rooms and villas (2+ nights), verified with a military ID at check-in. Not the Armed Forces Salute; plain veterans don’t qualify.
Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi offers a genuine military room-rate discount of up to 25–35% off — refreshed every season — for eligible active and retired service members on stays of two or more nights. You book directly with Disney and show a valid military ID at check-in; there’s no ID.me or GovX step.
Two things trip people up. First, this is not the Disney Armed Forces Salute — that ticket-and-room program is for Walt Disney World and Disneyland, not Aulani. Second, the offer is for active or retired military (plus spouses); a veteran who served but didn’t retire is not eligible. For a standard hotel room the military rate is usually your best easy win; for a villa, compare it against renting DVC points, which often saves more.
NavyWeek is an independent guide and is not affiliated with Disney. Disney sets and can change these terms at any time.

BEST SAVINGS PATH
The smartest route depends on your situation. Answer the two questions to find your best path, or scan the full decision table below.
Find your best path
1. Are you active or retired U.S. military (or a qualifying spouse)?
2. Is it a standard hotel room (vs a Deluxe Studio / 1-BR villa)?
Active or retired and booking a standard hotel room? Take the Aulani military rate (30% now). Booking a studio or 1-bedroom villa, or not active/retired? Compare a DVC point rental — it often saves more than the discount.
For a standard hotel room, the military rate is the best easy win in a discounted window.
On villa categories, a broker DVC point rental usually beats even a 35% Disney discount.
Plain veterans and DoD civilians can’t use the military rate; the public seasonal offer (up to 25–30%) is the fallback for a hotel room.
For a villa when you don’t qualify for the military rate, a DVC point rental is typically the cheapest route.
| Path | Stack | Effective price | You save | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Military rate (30% late-summer) | No stacking | ~$1,677 | ~$719 (30%) | You’re active/retired and traveling in a discounted window — the default best path for a standard hotel room. |
| General-public seasonal offer (up to 25–30%) | No stacking | ~$1,677–$1,797 | ~$599–$719 | A non-eligible guest, or when the public % matches and public inventory is open. |
| Disney Visa cardholder offer (up to 30–35%) | No stacking | ~$1,557–$1,677 | ~$719–$839 | You hold a Disney Visa and meet its longer minimum (4 nights late-summer / 5 nights fall). |
| Annual Passholder rate (~10%) | No stacking | ~$2,156 | ~$240 | You already hold a Disney AP and no better offer is open. |
| Rent DVC points (villa categories only) | Separate booking channel — not a stack | Villa-only (a ~$700/night studio can rent ~$425–$500/night) | Often >30–40% vs villa rack | You want a Deluxe Studio or 1-BR villa — broker rentals routinely beat the military % on villa categories. |
WHO QUALIFIES
Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi runs a real, seasonal military room-rate discount of up to 25–35% off select rooms and villas for stays of 2 or more consecutive nights. It is booked directly with Disney and verified in person with a valid U.S. military ID at check-in — there is no ID.me, SheerID, or GovX step. Eligibility is active or retired U.S. military (all branches, including Guard, Reserve, Coast Guard, Space Force, and the PHS/NOAA Commissioned Corps) and their spouses; ordinary veterans who did not retire do not qualify. This is a standalone Aulani offer — not the Disney Armed Forces Salute.
- Active-duty U.S. military (all branches) — eligible.
- Retired U.S. military — eligible.
- National Guard and Reservists — eligible.
- U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Space Force — eligible.
- Commissioned Corps of the PHS and NOAA — eligible.
- Spouses — eligible if presenting a valid, active U.S. military ID in the service member’s absence; the member or spouse must stay in a room on the reservation.
- Veterans who separated but did NOT retire, and DoD civilians/contractors — not eligible per the terms.

| Active or retired U.S. military (all branches, incl. HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.disneyaulani.com
- Open the current Aulani military room offerGo to disneyaulani.com and open the active military room offer, or call (866) 443-4763 (7am–9pm Pacific), or use a Disney travel agent.
- Choose a qualifying stayPick a stay of 2+ consecutive nights inside the active discount window and select an eligible room or villa (suites and 3-bedroom Grand Villas are excluded).
- Book — no upload requiredNo status upload is required at booking. Limit two rooms/villas per reservation; allocation is limited and can sell out, so book early in each window.
- Present a valid military ID at check-inThe eligible active or retired member (or spouse) presents a valid U.S. military ID and must be staying in a room on the reservation. If no valid ID is presented, Disney charges the full non-discounted rate.
HOW IT WORKS
Verification is manual and in-person: a valid military ID (CAC, retiree ID, or eligible dependent/spouse ID) shown at the front desk. There is no ID.me, SheerID, GovX, or WeSalute account involved, and no code to enter online. Because the check happens at check-in, an ineligible booking can be re-priced to rack rate on arrival — so only book it if you can present a qualifying ID, and the eligible member or spouse must be staying in a room on the reservation.
The discount is seasonal and tiered. For 2026 the windows ran up to 25% off in winter (stays Jan 4 – Apr 9), up to 30% off in spring (Apr 10 – Jun 12) and late summer (Aug 9 – Oct 18), and up to 35% off in the fall/holiday window (Oct 19 – Dec 23). The peak-summer gap (roughly mid-June to early August) typically has no military window. Stays must be 2+ consecutive nights, are capped at two rooms/villas per reservation, and cannot be combined with any other room or villa discount — the resort fee, Hawaii taxes, and parking are charged on top of every rate and are not discounted.
On value, the military rate is usually the best easy win for a standard hotel room (30% in the current late-summer window). For a Deluxe Studio or 1-bedroom villa, though, renting DVC points through a broker (David’s Vacation Club Rentals, DVC Shop) frequently beats even a 35% Disney discount — a ~$700/night rack studio can rent for roughly $425–$500/night via points. Disney Visa cardholder offers (up to 30–35%) can rival the military rate on longer stays, but mind their 4–5 night minimums. Book early in each seasonal window, because the military allocation is limited and sells out.
Exclusions & fine print
- Stays of 2+ consecutive nights are required; cancelling nights can void the discount.
- The headline “up to” % is a ceiling and varies by room type and date — not all rooms/dates get the max.
- Suites and 3-bedroom Grand Villas are excluded; allocation is limited and can sell out.
- Not combinable with any other room or villa discount or offer — one discount per reservation.
- Resort fee (~$45/night), Hawaii taxes (~17.9%), and parking are not discounted.
- Eligibility is active or retired military (plus spouses) — veterans who did not retire and DoD civilians are not eligible; peak-summer weeks (roughly mid-June to early August) usually fall outside the military windows.
