Verizon Fios Military & Veteran Discount

Fios home internet has its own ID.me-gated military discount — separate from the mobile discount — with the $99 setup fee waived when you order online.

Verizon Fios home internet has its own military discount — and it is separate from Verizon’s better-known mobile military discount. Eligible active-duty members, retirees, veterans, current or former Guard/Reserve, and Gold Star family members can register through ID.me and get a monthly discount on an eligible Fios plan (300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, or 2 Gig), plus the $99 professional setup fee waived when you order online.

One thing to know up front: your Verizon mobile military discount does not automatically apply to your Fios bill — they are two different programs, each with its own ID.me registration. And on Verizon’s own military page, the Fios "military" prices currently match the standard Auto Pay + Mobile + Home bundle prices, so Verizon does not publish a separate military-only dollar figure. The concrete, military-specific wins are the waived $99 setup fee and a $5/mo discount on Fios Digital Voice or Home Device Advisor. The biggest recurring savings come from bundling a Verizon mobile line (Mobile + Home Discount).

This is an independent guide — we are not affiliated with Verizon, and prices and terms change. Confirm the exact price you see after ID.me verification before you order.

WHO QUALIFIES

Verizon Fios home internet has its own ID.me-gated military discount — separate from the Verizon mobile military discount — with the $99 professional setup fee waived on online orders and a monthly discount on eligible Fios plans.

  • Active-duty US service members, verified through ID.me.
  • Military retirees, verified through ID.me.
  • Veterans and former service members, verified through ID.me.
  • Current or former National Guard and Reserve members, verified through ID.me.
  • Gold Star family members / next of kin (a DD Form 214 is used to validate).
  • Military spouses and dependents are not separately named for the Fios discount — the registrant must be the military or Gold Star member and the account owner/manager; verify eligibility during ID.me.
  • First responders, nurses, and teachers have their own separate Fios discounts (only one "serve" discount per account).

HOW TO REDEEM

Online at www.verizon.com

  1. Confirm you are on an eligible Fios plan
Eligible plans are 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, and 2 Gig. If you are an existing customer, change plans in My Verizon if needed; if you are new, confirm Fios is available at your address.
  2. Check eligibility on Verizon’s military page
Go to Verizon’s military discount page and choose “Check eligibility.”
  3. Verify your military status with ID.me
Verify through ID.me, a third-party digital identity network. ID.me may ask you to upload a document validating your service; it works in all major browsers except Internet Explorer.
  4. Choose your customer path and apply
Existing customers choose “Already with Verizon” and follow the prompts to apply the discount. New customers pick an eligible plan, choose “New to Verizon,” and complete the order online to get the $99 setup fee waived.
  5. Wait for the discount to appear
The discount shows on your Fios bill in 1–2 billing cycles. It lasts as long as you keep a qualifying plan and verified status — no annual renewal, though Verizon may occasionally re-verify.

HOW IT WORKS

Verizon verifies eligibility through ID.me, a third-party digital identity network also used by the VA, the IRS, and many major retailers. During registration ID.me may ask you to upload a document validating your service, and it works in all major browsers except Internet Explorer. Importantly, your Fios ID.me verification and your mobile ID.me verification are registered separately — verifying for one does not apply the other.

The Fios military discount lasts as long as you keep a qualifying home internet plan and verified military status; there is no annual renewal, though Verizon may occasionally re-verify. You can hold only one "serve" discount per account (military, first responder, nurse, or teacher), and it cannot be combined with Deals at Work — but it does stack with Auto Pay + paper-free billing and with the Mobile + Home Discount.

A word on the actual dollars: Verizon confirms a Fios military discount exists but does not post a distinct military-only figure. On its /military/ page, the Fios "military" prices ($44.99 / $64.99 / $74.99 / $94.99 for 300 Mbps / 500 Mbps / 1 Gig / 2 Gig) mirror the standard Auto Pay + Mobile + Home bundle prices anyone who bundles can get, versus standard promo prices of $49.99 / $74.99 / $89.99 / $109.99. Third-party coupon sites that claim "10–17% off" or "$5–$15/mo" are restating that bundle discount, not a military-only cut. The clearly military-specific wins are the waived $99 setup fee (online) and the $5/mo Digital Voice / Home Device Advisor add-on — so verify the true monthly delta live at checkout after ID.me.

Exclusions & fine print

  • The Verizon mobile military discount ($10/$25/$20 per account, or 15% off older plans) applies to mobile plans only and does NOT reduce your Fios bill — it is a separate program with a separate ID.me registration.
  • Only one "serve" discount per account (military, first responder, nurse, or teacher); these cannot be combined, and the military discount cannot combine with Deals at Work.
  • The $99 professional setup fee is waived only for qualifying orders completed online; it may otherwise apply.
  • Verizon does not separately post an exact monthly Fios military dollar or percent figure — the price shown after ID.me may match the standard Auto Pay / bundle promo, so confirm at checkout.
  • Fios is address-gated to key metro areas of nine states plus Washington DC.
  • The Mobile + Home savings ($5–$15/mo) require a Verizon mobile line plus Auto Pay — that is a bundle discount, not a military-only cut.

SOURCES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does Verizon Fios have a military discount?

Yes. Fios home internet has its own military discount, separate from Verizon’s mobile military discount. You verify with ID.me, get a monthly discount on an eligible plan (300 Mbps–2 Gig), and the $99 setup fee is waived when you order online.

Is the Fios military discount the same as the Verizon mobile military discount?

No. They are two separate programs with separate ID.me registrations. Verifying for the mobile discount does not apply a discount to your Fios bill, and vice versa.

How much is the Verizon Fios military discount?

Verizon confirms a discount exists but does not post a distinct military-only dollar or percent figure — on its military page the Fios "military" prices match the standard Auto Pay + Mobile + Home bundle prices. The clearly military-specific wins are the waived $99 setup fee (online) and a $5/mo discount on Digital Voice or Home Device Advisor. Confirm your exact price at checkout after ID.me.

Which Fios plans qualify?

300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, and 2 Gig.

How do I verify my military status for Fios?

Through ID.me on Verizon’s military discount page. ID.me may ask you to upload a document. It works in all major browsers except Internet Explorer.

Do veterans and Guard/Reserve qualify, or only active duty?

All qualify: US active duty, retirees, veterans, current or former Guard or Reserve, and Gold Star family members.

Can I stack the Fios military discount with other discounts?

It stacks with Auto Pay + paper-free billing and the Mobile + Home Discount. It does not combine with Deals at Work, and you can only have one "serve" discount (military, first responder, nurse, or teacher) per account.

Does the $99 setup fee waiver always apply?

It is waived for qualifying Fios orders completed online. Order online to capture it.

When will the discount show on my bill?

In 1–2 billing cycles after ID.me verification.

24 Hour Fitness publishes no nationwide military discount — no military page, no percentage, and no ID.me or SheerID on 24hourfitness.com. What exists: a military offer routed through GovX (terms gated behind a free GovX login), club-by-club in-person discounts at some locations, historically free Veterans Day workouts, and a genuinely military-friendly deployment freeze with no minimum or maximum period. The cheapest paths in are usually not military-specific: Costco’s 2-year Sport eCertificate (if your club accepts it) or Active&Fit Direct at $28/month.

The honest savings paths: seasonal sales up to 60% off paired with the fee-free Crate & Barrel Visa’s 10% back in Reward Dollars, and — for anyone mid-PCS — the 15% new-mover discount.

Its only military-specific policy is flat $6.95 USPS shipping to APO/FPO/DPO addresses. The real savings: tax-free Vertuo machines at AAFES and the Navy Exchange, routine ~20% retail machine sales, AutoReplenish 10% off capsule orders of $75+, and — for OriginalLine owners — verified compatible-pod discounts from Gourmesso (20% via GovX) and Artizan (15% via VerifyPass).

LA Fitness does not publish a standalone military or veteran discount and uses no verification service (ID.me/GovX/SheerID) for one. Service members can still save through specific channels: WeSalute+ (a paid membership whose GlobalFit benefit lists LA Fitness with member rates on dues), the LA Fitness Corporate Wellness Program (via an employer, including government agencies), and occasional Veterans Day free-access promotions. Because clubs price memberships locally, asking your club directly is often the most effective move.

Champs Sports

Champs Sports gives a 10% military discount on most online and in-store purchases, verified by SheerID (not ID.me). Per the Champs help center, it covers active-duty members, veterans, National Guard, reservists, and registered dependents of active-duty or retiree service members. Online, select "military discount" at checkout and complete the SheerID form; in store, show a valid photo/military ID. It’s capped at 4 verifications per rolling 30 days and a $100 maximum discount per verification, and can’t be combined with other offers.

Starlink (SpaceX) offers no military or veteran discount — no active-duty, veteran, retiree, reserve, spouse, dependent, or first-responder pricing on its dishes or plans. Prices are the same for all consumers in a given area, and Starlink uses no ID.me/SheerID/GovX/WeSalute to verify military status. "Starlink military discount" claims online are third-party (an installer’s labor discount, or GovX accessory pricing) — not from Starlink. Starshield is a separate defense procurement channel, not a consumer discount.

The online offer covers active duty, reserve/Guard, veterans/retirees, spouses, dependents, and Gold Star families — but the official in-store FAQ is narrower (active duty, reserve/Guard, veteran/retiree). It can’t be combined with other promotions (only Rewards Cash) and excludes many brands.

JD Sports (US) does not publish a military or veteran discount, and ID.me states it is "not aware" of one — ID.me offers only cash back (Retro up to 1.5%, Sale Items up to 1.0%) to all members, not a military discount. Military-discount directories report a 10% in-store discount, and one JD Sports outlet store runs a "10% off, show military ID" promo — but JD Sports hasn’t published these terms, so any offer is store-by-store and unverified. There is no confirmed online military discount. Ask your local store.

Hardware & Home Improvement

Ace Hardware has no uniform company-wide military or veteran discount — every Ace store is independently owned, so any percentage off is set store-by-store and is not published by Ace. The one corporately supported benefit is the Military Double Points Program: participating stores can give active, reserve, retired, and disabled military double Ace Rewards points (about 20 points per $1 instead of 10), verified by a service ID at the register, in store only.

REI does not offer a military or veteran discount — its help center and ID.me both confirm there is no military program, and REI uses no ID.me, GovX, SheerID, or WeSalute military verification. Everyone saves the same way: a $30 lifetime Co-op membership that returns an annual Co-op Member Reward (REI says ~10% back is typical but not guaranteed) plus member coupons, sales, and Re/Supply used gear.

Abercrombie & Fitch has no official military discount — no military page on abercrombie.com and no verification partner (no ID.me, SheerID, or GovX). Garmin
GPS Watches & Wearables

Garmin has no direct military discount — there is no military verification at checkout on garmin.com, and the “20% military discount” you see online is a myth (it’s Garmin’s students-only Student Beans offer, mislabeled). The real military-specific route is third-party: Garmin is a GovX Brand Partner (member pricing, plus a dedicated GovX “Garmin Open Box” storefront). But the lowest price usually comes from a live on-site sale or a certified-refurbished unit — and because these paths are substitutes, not stacks, you pick the single lowest, you don’t combine them.
