Show a valid military ID at the register and you’ll get 10% off most of the store, up to a $500 maximum discount. It excludes Stihl products and gift cards and can’t be combined with any other offer.

The important catch: there’s no military discount online. Northern Tool isn’t an ID.me partner, and any "online military code" you see on a coupon site is unverified. If you’re buying online, your best bet is a public promo code or clearance — anyone can use those, and the military discount wouldn’t apply online anyway.

HOW IT WORKS

Verification is a physical military ID shown in-store — there’s no ID.me, SheerID, or online account. Because the discount is in-store only, there’s no online verification path at all. ID.me’s own shop page states it is "not aware that Northern Tool offers Military discounts," and Military.com lists redemption as in-store only with a valid military ID presented at the time of purchase.

Aggregators embellish the real 10% in-store discount with claims primary sources don’t support: an online "unique discount code," ID.me or SheerID verification, and blanket family-member eligibility. We don’t assert any of those. The verified rule set is narrow — 10% in-store, physical military ID, $500 maximum discount, no Stihl or gift cards, and non-combinable.

The 10% reaches full value only up to a ~$5,000 cart (the $500 cap), so it pays to batch major purchases — a generator, welder, or pressure washer — into one in-store trip. Online, where the military discount doesn’t exist, the levers are public promo codes (e.g. $20 off $100) and clearance, which are open to everyone; on an already-reduced item the public price frequently beats 10%.
