HOW IT WORKS
PODS’ model is a container you load at your own pace: the company drops a weather-resistant container at your door, you pack it over your included first 30 days, and PODS moves it to your new home or holds it at a secure Storage Center. The military discount layers onto that — up to 10% off the delivery and first month’s rental locally, and up to 10% off storage, delivery, and transportation on a long-distance move between PODS company-owned and/or franchise locations.
There are three ways to claim it: enter promo code SERV10 at online checkout, verify your military status with ID.me in your cart, or call PODS and have an agent apply it. A free ID.me account is the cleanest path because it confirms your status without you ever handing over a copy of your ID — and you should never email or send a photocopy of a military ID or CAC, which is not how legitimate verification works. The discount is "up to" 10% and cannot be combined with other PODS offers, so compare it against any general promotion running at the time.
Military families with USAA should also check USAA Perks, which has an alliance with PODS for savings on the move and monthly storage — a separate path you would compare against SERV10 rather than stack. As with any PCS, keep every receipt: a personally procured move (PPM/DITY) is reimbursable through your transportation office, so the container, mileage, and storage costs may come back to you regardless of the discount.
