Wyndham Hotels Military & Veteran Discount
At least 15% off Standard via rate code SML, plus up to 20% off Best Available and auto-GOLD via ID.me. Here’s how to book the lower rate for your dates.
Yes — Wyndham offers a genuine military discount. The everyday version is the Military Appreciation Rate: at least 15% off a hotel’s Standard Rate, booked with rate code SML on Wyndham’s own channels and verified by showing a valid military ID at check-in (you don’t need to be a Wyndham Rewards member).
If you confirm your military status online via ID.me, you also get an automatic GOLD tier upgrade, 3,000 bonus points after a qualifying stay, and access to an up to 20% off Best Available Rate deal. Compare the SML rate against the ID.me rate for your dates and book the lower one.

WHO QUALIFIES
Wyndham offers a genuine military discount with two paths. The everyday version is the Military Appreciation Rate — at least 15% off a hotel’s Standard Rate, booked with rate code SML on Wyndham’s own channels and verified by showing a military ID at check-in (no Rewards membership needed). Confirming your military status online via ID.me also unlocks an automatic GOLD tier upgrade, 3,000 bonus points after a qualifying stay, and an ID.me rate of up to 20% off the Best Available Rate. Compare SML against the ID.me rate for your dates and book the lower.
- Active duty, reserve, National Guard, retired, and veterans — eligible (U.S. and Canadian forces).
- Spouses — eligible.
- Children 18+ of military members — eligible for the bonus-points offer.

| Verified via ID.me — Best Available RateThe ID.me hosted rate is a ceiling of up to 20% off the Best Available Rate and may be less than 20% at some properties. Not combinable with other discounts. HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.wyndhamhotels.com
- Book the SML rate on a direct channelGo to a Wyndham or brand site or app (or call the toll-free line), select rate code SML (Military Appreciation Rate), and complete a direct booking. Not valid on third-party OTAs.
- Confirm Military Status via ID.me for perksUse Wyndham’s “Confirm Military Status” flow and verify through ID.me to get an automatic GOLD tier upgrade and eligibility for 3,000 bonus points after a qualifying stay.
- Compare SML vs. the ID.me rate and book the lowerThe SML rate (≥15% off Standard) and the ID.me rate (up to 20% off Best Available) use different baselines, so compare the final price for your exact dates and book whichever is lower. Book the ID.me rate via the ID.me link or toll-free where offered.
In store
- Show a valid military ID at check-inThe SML rate needs only a valid military ID presented at check-in — no Wyndham Rewards membership is required to book it.
HOW IT WORKS
The two paths use different baselines, which is why directories that flatten this to a single “20% military discount” are misleading. The guaranteed number is at least 15% off the Standard Rate via code SML; the up to 20% figure is the ID.me Best Available Rate offer, and Wyndham states it may be less than 20% off at some properties. So the smart move is to price both for your exact dates and take the lower final number.
Verification differs by path. The SML rate needs only a military ID at check-in. The Rewards perks and the ID.me rate require completing Wyndham’s “Confirm Military Status” step, which is powered by ID.me; a dedicated military member-services line (855-464-5739) supports the process, and WeSalute also lists a Wyndham offer.
Both military rates must be booked on direct channels (Wyndham sites and app, brand sites, the toll-free line, on-site, or traditional travel agents) — not third-party OTAs — and neither combines with other discounts. You can still earn Wyndham Rewards points on a qualifying military-rate stay, which layers loyalty value on top of the discounted rate. Verifying once banks auto-GOLD and the 3,000-point bonus, which offset future stays.
Exclusions & fine print
- New bookings only; not group bookings; direct channels only — not OTAs.
- Not combinable with other discounts or promotions; blackout dates, room-type exclusions, and property variation apply.
- The 20% is a ceiling ("may be less than 20% off" at some properties); the guaranteed floor is 15% off Standard via SML.
- The 3,000-point bonus has a booking/stay-by window (booked direct by Jun 1, completed by Sep 30, 2026).
