HOW IT WORKS
The Zoo uses flex pricing, so the standard adult rate varies by date and time; the 50% military discount comes off the applicable general-admission price for your chosen date. Children (3–12) and seniors (65+) already receive an automatic 20% off at checkout, but the 50% military rate is the deeper discount for eligible guests within the 5-guest cap.
Verification is via SheerID online (which issues a one-time discount code) or by presenting a valid military ID at the gate. Either way, you must show proof of military service when presenting your ticket. There is no ID.me or GovX integration reported for the Zoo.
For repeat visitors, a Houston Zoo membership can beat repeated single-day military pricing if you will visit two or more times a year, and it adds parking and member perks. SNAP/WIC households should also compare the separate Lone Star $9 ticket rate.
