Let’s be straight: Kroger does not have an everyday, chain-wide military discount. The claim you’ll see on coupon sites — that Kroger takes 10% off for military "on the 1st and 15th of every month" — isn’t true and isn’t published anywhere on kroger.com.

What Kroger actually offers is a holiday-only 10% discount: on Veterans Day (November 11), and in some divisions on Memorial Day, veterans, active-duty members, and their dependents get 10% off their eligible purchase by showing a valid military ID or DD214 and scanning their Kroger loyalty (Shopper’s) card at checkout. HOW IT WORKS

The honest headline is that Kroger’s military benefit is a dated, holiday event, not an everyday rate. Multiple independent outlets quoting Kroger PR confirm the same mechanics for Veterans Day: 10% off eligible items for veterans, active military, and dependents, in-store and via Kroger Pickup, with a valid military ID or DD214 and a scanned loyalty card. Some divisions (for example the Dallas Division across North Texas, East Texas, and Louisiana) have run a one-day Memorial Day 10% event, but that is not confirmed chain-wide.

Because the discount is run division by division, availability genuinely varies. Kroger’s newsroom has framed Veterans Day as "in stores nationwide," yet the confirmations are division- and market-level, and cashier interpretation of what counts as "eligible" can differ. Treat it as a real but YMMV benefit: verify your local banner and ad each year, and don’t assume Delivery (as opposed to Pickup) is included.

There is no third-party verification and no online code for this offer — it is a manual military-ID check at the register plus your Kroger loyalty card. Kroger’s separate "Verified Savings" program is for government-assistance/SNAP shoppers, not a military path. So ignore any site telling you to "enter a Kroger military promo code" — none exists.
