Brownells Military & Veteran Discount (Valor Program)
Real account-level "special pricing" for military, veterans, LE, and Fire/EMS via ID.me — no published percentage, no code, and military verification never expires.
Brownells runs the Valor Program, its official discount for active duty, Reserve, National Guard, retired, and veteran military personnel — plus law enforcement, Fire, and EMS. You verify once through ID.me (or by submitting documents like a DD214 or VA card), and discounted "special pricing" then appears on eligible items across brownells.com. Two things make this program unusual: military verification never expires at Brownells, and there’s no code to remember — prices simply show up lower once you’re verified.
The catch: Brownells doesn’t publish a percentage. Discounts vary by brand and product, so ignore any site promising "10% off for military" — no such figure exists officially. Because of that, it’s worth comparing your Valor price against Brownells’ frequent public sitewide codes before checking out; sometimes the public code is the better deal, and it costs nothing to have both options.
This is an independent guide, not affiliated with Brownells. Brownells controls the program and can change its terms at any time — confirm details on the official Valor page before buying.

Verify once, then make Brownells beat itself on every order
Valor pricing is free, permanent for military, and item-level — so use it as a floor, not a ceiling. Brownells runs public sitewide codes almost constantly, and only one of the two prices will be lower on any given item.
- Activate Valor once via ID.me — it never expires for military customers.
- On each order, compare your crossed-out Valor price against the live sitewide code (12% off was running July 7, 2026) through a cashback portal.
- Buy each item on whichever price is lower, and layer any manufacturer rebate from Brownells’ rebates page — rebates stack with everything.
One code per order; codes exclude ammo, firearms, reloading components, and 30+ brands — on those categories, Valor pricing is one of the only levers. Valor-plus-code stacking is unstated, so don’t count on combining them.
BEST SAVINGS PATH
The smartest route depends on your situation. Answer the two questions to find your best path, or scan the full decision table below.
Find your best path
1. Is a sitewide promo code live right now?
2. Are you buying ammo, firearms, reloading components, or an excluded brand?
Verify once with ID.me (free, never expires for military), then on each order compare your Valor item prices against the live sitewide code through a cashback portal and take the better one — layering manufacturer rebates either way.
Public codes exclude ammo, firearms, reloading, and 30+ brands — your Valor account price is the lever there; GovX-member pricing on substitute brands is the other.
A 12%-style sitewide code through a portal is usually the quantifiable winner; take Valor instead on any item where its crossed-out price is lower.
No code, excluded category: verified account pricing is the main lever on these items.
In a code drought, your Valor price plus ~5% portal cashback is the honest best path; layer any manufacturer rebate.
| Path | Stack | Effective price | You save | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sitewide promo code (12% off) + cashback portal (~5%) | One public code per order + portal cashback (portal terms govern payout with a code) | ~$250.80 ($264.00 − ~$13.20 cashback) + shipping | ~$49.20 | A sitewide code is live (frequent at Brownells) and your items aren’t on the code-exclusion list — usually the quantifiable winner. |
| Email signup 10% (first order $100+) + cashback | New-subscriber code + portal cashback | ~$256.50 ($270.00 − ~$13.50) | ~$43.50 | It’s your first-ever Brownells order and no bigger sitewide code is running. |
| Valor Program pricing (military/veteran, via ID.me) | Account-level pricing; no code; stacking with codes unstated | Unquantifiable in advance — no published %, item-level pricing after verification | Varies by item | Always worth activating (free, never expires for military). Can win on items promo codes exclude — ammo, firearms, reloading, excluded brands — and during code droughts. |
| Cashback portal alone | ~5% best listed rate; Rakuten doesn’t carry Brownells | ~$285.00 | ~$15.00 | No code is live and Valor pricing on your specific items is nil. |
| Manufacturer rebates (Brownells rebates page) | Post-purchase — stacks with every path above | Baseline minus the rebate, on top of any path | Rebate amount | A rebate exists on your item — always layer it. |

WHO QUALIFIES
Brownells’ Valor Program gives verified military members — active duty, Reserve, National Guard, retirees, and veterans — plus law enforcement and Fire/EMS special discounted pricing on brownells.com, verified once through ID.me. Brownells publishes no percentage: discounts vary by brand and product, prices simply show up lower after verification, and for military customers the verification never expires.
- Active-duty military — eligible per the official Valor page.
- Veterans and military retirees — explicitly listed on the Valor page.
- Reserve and National Guard members — explicitly listed on the Valor page.
- Law enforcement (state, local, city, university, railroad, tribal, sheriffs, federal agencies) and Fire/EMS — active and retired — eligible via the same Valor Program.
- Military spouses and surviving spouses — Brownells’ ID.me help page defines eligibility via ID.me’s Military community, which includes spouses and surviving spouses; the Valor page itself doesn’t enumerate them, so verify through ID.me before counting on it.
- Teachers, nurses, students, and general government employees are not listed as eligible.

HOW TO REDEEM
Online at www.brownells.com
- Create (or open) your brownells.com accountClick Sign In → Create Account. Under Account Info, choose "Valor Individual (Law Enforcement, Military, EMS, Fire and Veteran)."
- Verify with ID.meClick the green Verify with ID.me button and complete verification in the pop-up. Alternative route: email documentation (DD214, VA card, Active Military ID/CAC, Retired ID) with your account number to orderdesk@brownells.com — the discount applies to future orders only.
- Shop — discounted prices appear per itemEligible items display the discounted Valor price near Add to Cart with the original price crossed out. There is no promo code to enter.
- Compare against the live public code before checkoutBrownells runs frequent public sitewide codes (12% off almost everything was live on July 7, 2026). Compare your Valor item price against the code price — one code per order, and Valor-plus-code stacking is not addressed by Brownells — and take the better deal.
HOW IT WORKS
The Valor Program is account-level pricing, not a coupon. After you verify — through ID.me as a "Valor Individual," or by emailing documents to orderdesk@brownells.com (agency accounts upload employer ID; allow 1–2 days) — eligible products show a discounted price near the Add to Cart button with the everyday price crossed out. Brownells’ own help page describes the depth only as "Discounts vary by brand and product, but prices are generally lower than our everyday prices." Community chatter pegs many items at small, manufacturer-dependent percentages, but no official number exists and this page won’t invent one.
Verification duration is the standout term: verifications run 18 months, but Brownells states plainly that military customers are not required to re-verify — the military discount does not expire. First responders see a re-verify button one month before their 18-month mark. Verification is free either way.
Brownells is also a high-frequency promo retailer, which shapes the honest best-path advice. On July 7, 2026 a public "Freedom To Boom" sale offered 12% off almost everything with code FREEDOM12 (or free shipping over $99 with 99FREESHIP) — codes like these are limited-time and change constantly. Public codes carry long exclusion lists (ammunition, firearms, reloading components, flash-sale items, and 30+ brands), take one code per order, and Brownells doesn’t say whether they apply on top of Valor pricing — so treat the two as either/or and compare per item. On the categories codes can’t touch, Valor pricing is one of the only levers.
Round out the stack with a cashback portal (best listed rate was ~5% on July 7, 2026 per CashbackMonitor; Rakuten doesn’t carry Brownells) and Brownells’ manufacturer-rebates page — rebates are post-purchase and stack with everything. New subscribers can also take 10% off a first order over $100 when no bigger code is live.
Exclusions & fine print
- "Exclusions apply" to the Valor/ID.me discount — Brownells does not itemize which products are excluded, so expect some brands and items to show no Valor discount.
- Not for resale — Valor Program purchases are for personal or professional use.
- No published percentage — the discount differs by brand and product; the crossed-out price on each item is the only way to see it.
- Separate public promo codes (a different program from Valor) exclude ammunition, magazine multi-packs, gun safes, firearms, reloading components, and flash-sale items, plus 30+ brands including Aimpoint, EOTech, Garmin, Glock, Holosun, Leupold, Nightforce, Ruger, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, and Trijicon — these are code exclusions, not confirmed Valor exclusions.
- One promo code per order, and Brownells offers "cannot be combined with other Brownells offers or discounts." Whether Valor account pricing combines with a public code is not stated anywhere — assume it doesn’t.
