Toro does have a military discount — the American Hero Program, which takes 18% off MSRP for current and former military members (and current or former firefighters, police, and EMTs). But it is narrower than most coupon sites make it sound. It only covers Toro’s commercial gear — Z Master and GrandStand mowers, commercial walk-behinds, and Toro’s Dingo, TRX, and STX construction equipment — and it is honored only at Authorized Toro Dealers, in person, with a valid ID. There is no online code.
If you’re a homeowner shopping the Recycler, Super Recycler, TimeMaster, or a residential zero-turn, American Hero does not apply, and neither Lowe’s, Home Depot, nor Tractor Supply honors it. Your best move there is a Memorial Day, July 4, or Labor Day sale at a big-box retailer.

HOW IT WORKS
The 18% comes off MSRP (the manufacturer’s suggested retail price), not the lower "minimum advertised price" shown on toro.com. Before you buy, ask the dealer for the model’s MSRP and compare 18%-off-MSRP against the dealer’s normal out-the-door price — on a unit the dealer would already discount, the real savings can be smaller than a flat 18%.
American Hero is dealer-only and in person, so there is no code to enter online. It cannot be combined with a toro.com cart, a coupon-site code, or a cashback portal, and it does not automatically beat a dealer’s negotiated price or a seasonal financing or rebate promo. Treat it as one option to compare, not an automatic win.
Military and first-responder eligibility are equal here — both get the same 18%, and there is no larger separate "veteran" tier. Toro verifies status in person at the dealer with a valid military ID (or first-responder identification), not through ID.me, GovX, SheerID, or WeSalute.
