12:45 p.m. - Lighthouse for the Blind visit The Lighthouse for the Blind has been serving the blind and visually impaired for more than 75 years.
U.S. Naval Academy band “Electric Brigade” will be performing an “unplugged” set for the lunch crowd.

3:30 p.m. - San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee luncheon
The chamber’s Military Affairs Committee is meeting today and the Navy’s finest will be the guests of honor. Rear Admiral William Kiser, the incoming Commanding Officer of the NEW Medical Education Training Campus (METC), will be the guest speaker. He’ll be joined by several Navy Corpmen.

The kids at the Boys & Girls Club on Perez Street will get a chance to learn what life is like in the U.S. Navy. Today, Sailors from the Naval Medicine Command will pay the club a visit to play with the kids and tell them about their experiences while serving in the military!

9:00 a.m. - Graffiti Wipeout
You support our Sailors and today, our Sailors want to show they support San Antonio. Around town today, Sailors will be scraping, scrubbing and painting to help wipeout graffiti. San Antonio, it’s our way to say thank you for your patriotism and support.
10:00 a.m. - Media tour of METC
The new Medical Education Training Campus is still under construction but today the media are invited to not only check out the progress, but also meet the incoming commanding officer. Rear Admiral William Kiser will lead the tour and field your questions. When construction is complete, METC take the lead in training military medicine for everyone in the Navy, Army and Air Force.

10:30 a.m. - Reading with the kids / Carl Wanke Elementary
Today, the students at Carl Wanke Elementary school will get a rare treat. US Navy Sailors will be going from classroom to classroom to read to the kids. After story time, the Sailors will talk to the kids about what it’s like to be in the Navy and answer a few questions. Have fun kids! Location: 10419 Old Prue Road

7:30 a.m. - Habitat for Humanity building project
You support our Sailors and today, our Sailors want to show they support San Antonio. Today, Sailors will be sawing, hammering and painting to help build a home for a worthy family. We’re teaming up with Habitat for Humanity to say thank you San Antonio.
9:00 a.m. - Mega DEP means Mega Fun
Fun and games are what you’ll find when young men and women gather with the Navy. Test your knowledge about the Navy. Challenge yourself to see if you’re as fit as the Navy’s finest. Take a spin on our Navy Simulator. Hear some great music by the U.S. Naval Academy band “Electric Brigade.” Best of all, it’s free. The fun ends at high noon so don’t miss out on all the fun.

Booths, food, music, a Sunday just doesn’t get any better than this. Come out to Fort Sam Houston and hear a live performance by the U.S. Naval Academy "Electric Brigade" rock band from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Our Navy Simulator and Suburban will also be present all day. Retreat ceremony 5:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

8:40 a.m. - Sailors in the Spotlight / KABB TV
Tune in this morning when Rear Adm. Robin Graf, Deputy Commander, Navy Recruiting Command will appear on the local Fox affiliate to discuss the San Antonio Navy Week. The U.S. Naval Academy band “Electric Brigade” will also make an appearance to sing a song or two.
9:45 a.m. - Breakfast with USAA
USAA has long provided insurance to the military but this morning, they’re providing breakfast. Today, our Sailors will eat breakfast with the management team to discuss the needs of the “average Sailor” and tour the corporate headquarters. Can I get my eggs scrambled?
12:00 p.m. - Rear Adm.Graf visits University of Texas at San Antonio
Rear Adm. Robin Graf, Deputy Commander, Navy Recruiting Command will share her experiences about serving in Iraq when she visits students at UTSA today.

7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Texas Cavaliers River Parade
Rear Adm. Graf, local and USS San Antonio Sailors and the Naval Academy "Electric Brigade" rock band will participate. As the most unique parade in the United States, it is one of the premier events each year during San Antonio's biggest celebration, Fiesta. Seated under the stars of a spring evening, the viewers are treated to the spectacular sights and sounds of a parade that winds its way through the heart of downtown San Antonio. Professionally decorated barges become floating "islands", bearing thousands of twinkling lights, festive bands, and colorfully costumed participants.

7:15 a.m. - Welcome back Rear Admiral Garcia /Central Catholic High School
Rear Adm. Albert Garcia is a San Antonio native and a graduate of Central Catholic High School. Today the Naval engineer will return to his alma mater for a morning full of events including a breakfast with administrators, a speaking opportunity before an engineering class, an interview with the school paper and a tour of the campus. The Navy’s premier contemporary entertainment ensemble, the U.S. Naval Academy band “Electric Brigade” will also be on hand to entertain the students.

11:30 a.m. - Hispanic Chamber of Commerce luncheon
Rear Adm. Albert Garcia, Deputy commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, will be the keynote speaker at today’s meeting of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
2:00 p.m. - Tour of Brooke Army Medical Center
Rear Adm. Albert Garcia and Sailors from USS San Antonio will tour the Brooke Army Medical Center to meet the doctors, nurse and staff of this life saving military facility. The tour will also include a stop at the Warrior and Family Support Center to meet servicemembers who are recovering from their wounds.

11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Navy Day at the Alamo.
Rear Adm. Garcia, local and USS San Antonio Sailors, Naval Academy "Electric Brigade" will participate. This event highlights the presence of the United States Navy and its forces in San Antonio and South Texas. Attendees witness demonstrations of the Navy's power and capabilities and sample some Navy tradition and heritage.

12:45 p.m. - Battle of Flowers Parade
Rear Adm. Garcia, Local and USS San Antonio Sailors and the Naval Academy "Electric Brigade" rock band will ride the Navy Recruiting District San Antonio float. The first Battle of Flowers Parade took place in 1891 to honor the heroes of the Alamo and to commemorate the Battle of San Jacinto, April 21, 1836, where Texas won its independence from Mexico. The parade has entertained San Antonio every year except during World Wars I and II. It is now recognized as the founding event of Fiesta San Antonio.

7:45 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. Fiesta Flambeau Parade
Rear Adm. Garcia, local and USS San Antonio Sailors and the Naval Academy "Electric Brigade" rock band will ride the Navy Recruiting District San Antonio float. The Flambeau Parade is one of the largest illuminated parades in the nation and attracts more than half a million street spectators. The 62nd edition of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade will celebrate "Legends in Music" from all genres of the entertainment industry, showcasing many local and mainstream celebrities. Once again the award-winning University of Texas Longhorn Band will lead the parade through the 2.6 mile route of downtown San Antonio, passing the historic Shrine of Texas, the Alamo. Each year thousands of lights are used to illuminate floats, band uniforms, props and costumes.
