Rochester Navy Week 2009 is packed with events demonstrating the mission of the Navy and our proud heritage. These events include the Blue Angels, Navy Band performances, Navy Theme-Wrapped Suburbans, Navy Tactical Demonstrations and Flyovers. All intend to give the public a personal look at the men and women of the Navy serving throughout the world in different roles.

Rear Admiral Donald P. Quinn, Commander, Navy Personnel Command, will serve as our spokesperson.

Rochester Navy Week Brings Music, Smiles, Navy Ball Caps To Local Children's Hospital

Navy officials visited a Rochester hospital to bring smiles, music and Navy ball caps to children and their families May 27.
Rear Adm. Don Quinn, Capt. Leo Falardeau and Cmdr. Curt Jones were some of the Rochester Navy Week guests invited to tour the Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

(May 29, 2009) Rochester, N.Y. - Chief Musician Francisco Dominguez takes song requests from students crowding the stage during the U.S. Naval Academy band the "Electric Brigade" concert, performed before more than 600 students at East Rochester High School in Rochester N.Y. during Rochester Navy Week, one of 21 Navy Weeks planned across America in 2009. more..

(May 28, 2009) Canandaigua, N.Y. - LT Paul Smith scrapes the old paint from the shingles of the Blue Star "Canteen." Smith and other sailors spent the day rehabing the "Canteen" as part of a Community Relations Project during Rochester Navy Week. more..

This year, 21 cities have been selected to host a Navy Week including Phoenix, St. Louis, Des Moines, Denver, Spokane, Rock County WI, Rochester, Chattanooga, Oklahoma City, Quad Cities IA, Boston, Salinas CA, Omaha, Columbus OH, Knoxville, York PA, Reno, Albuquerque, Greenville SC, Houston and New Orleans.
