VADM Peter Daly is the Reviewing Officer for the Recruit Graduation at Naval Station Great Lakes

11:30 a.m. -5:00p.m.
Vice Admiral Daly will tour various commands and units at Naval Station Great Lakes

7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Navy Rock Band Horizon will perform at the Kiwanis Park in Brookfield, IL


Saturday, August 7, 2010


12:05 p.m.

Come out to see Vice Admiral Daly throw a first pitch at the Chicago Cubs game.
You will also have the chance to see a Navy flyover prior to the start of the game.

11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Back to School parade and festival.
 
The Navy Rock Band Horizon will perform at during the parade..

2:10 p.m.
Joliet Jackhammers game
Come out to the Joliet Jackhammers game and see Rear Admiral Ken Carodine throw out a first pitch and the drill team from Training Support Center at Great Lakes perform.


8:00 p.m.

Navy Night with the Chicago Fire.
Come out and listen to the Navy Rock band in the Fire Fest area. Watch the Reserve Center Color Guard and Navy Musician Sing the Anthem prior to the start of the game. You will also have the chance to meet Sailors from the USS Chicago. Vice Admiral Daly will participate in the coin toss and the "Hero of the Match" will be honored at the game.


Monday, August 9, 2010


9:00 a.m. -9:45 a.m.

Vice Admiral Daly will tour the trading floors of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will meet with Tootsie Roll CEO and tour the facility.

11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
American Airlines Gate K-3 Navy Dedication at Chicago O'Hare.
If you are at O'Hare International Airport, come by Gate K-3 for the kick off of Chicago Navy Week with a gate dedication, listen to Vice Admiral Peter Daly speak and hear the Navy Band perform.

1:3o p.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will visit with John Landgraf, Senior Vice President of Global Pharmacy Operations at Abbott Labs .

2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Vice Admiral Daly will meet with Chicago Blackhawks President John McDonough.

3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will meet with Northwestern Provost Daniel Linzer.

4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Sailors from the USS Chicago will be at the NBC studios.

5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Vice Admiral Peter Daly will speak with members of the Chicago Navy League at the Union League Club.

6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will speak with Navy ROTC Students from the Illinois Institute of Technology during their Indoc week at Naval Station Great Lakes.

 


Tuesday, August 10, 2010


10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

USS Chicago Sailors will tour the Chicago Barracks at RTC Great Lakes and have lunch with the recruits.

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Navy Sailors will be at the Rauner Family YMCA to do a fitness challenge with the kids.


11:00 a.m.

A Navy Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Juan Carethers will conduct a cooking demonstration on ABC during the 11 O'clock hour.

11:00 a.m.- 11:45 p.m.
Vice Admiral Peter Daly will visit with DePaul University President Reverend Dennis H. Holtschneider.
12:00 p.m. - 12:20 p.m.
Vice Admiral Peter Daly will meet with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.

12:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
Vice Admiral Daly will receive the Navy Week Proclamation from Mayor Daley at Daley Plaza.
Vice Admiral Daly will also commission a new Naval Officer during the event. Come out to hear the Navy Rock Band Horizon prior to the ceremony.

1300-1400
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will speak with students at the DuSable Museum of African American History

2:30 p.m.

Vice Admiral Daly will meet with Motorola Executives and tour their facility.


3:00 p.m.

Navy Rock Band Freedom will perform at Navy Pier.
Million Dollar Quartet will also perform at Navy Pier with the Navy Rock Band Horizon.

2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Rear Admiral Carodine and Navy Sailors will be at the Sue Duncan Children's Center providing tutoring and mentoring to the children.


3:00 p.m. - 5.00 p.m

Sailors from the USS Chicago will be at the SOS Children's Villages of Illinois.


7:10 p.m.

Navy Leap Frogs Parachute Demonstration Team will jump into U.S. Cellular Field prior to the start of the White Sox game.

9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will be at Blue Cross in a ceremony thanking Reservists for their service.


9:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

USS Chicago Sailors will be at the Museum of Science and Industry.

11:30 a.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will have lunch with Author of Blog of War and Chairman of the Warrior Legacy Foundation, Matt Burden.

12:30 p.m.
Navy Rock Band Freedom will perform at the Hancock Building.


1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m.

Navy Sailors will volunteer at the Chicago Food Depository during the Repack Session.  Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will meet with the COO Caroline Howe.


3:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m.

Rear Admiral Ken Carodine and Sailors will conduct a Caps for Kids visit at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital.

7:30 p.m.
Navy Rock Band Horizon will perform at the Chicago Red Stars soccer game at Toyota Park.

10:00 a.m.
First Tee of Chicago Trick Shot Event.  Navy Sailors from the Chicago Navy Operational Support Center will volunteer during the event.


11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.

Rear Adm. Ken Carodine will speak with Navy Junior ROTC Students and Instructors at the Pritzker Military Library.
Sailors from the USS Chicago will also be attending.


12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Navy Rock Band will perform at AON Center.

2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Rear Admiral Ken Carodine will meet with Vice President for Finance and Administration CFO, Nim Chinniah for the University of Chicago.


3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Rear Admiral Ken Carodine and USS Chicago Sailors will visit the Union League Boys and Girls Club - Club One.

7:00 p.m.
Come out to the Rockford Riverhawks game to see the Navy Parachute Team Leap Frogs will jump into the game.

5:30 a.m.
Be sure to watch NBC, Navy Sailors will be at the NBC Plaza talking about Navy Week.

8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Navy Demonstration Team Blue Angels will be at the Union League Club speaking with youth about what they do in the Navy.

10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.
Sailors will volunteer at the Pacific Garden Mission.


11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Navy Culinary Specialists will compete in a cook-off with students and instructors from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute.
Come out to Le Cordon Bleu and see how the Navy Culinary Specialists stack up to the instructors at Le Cordon Bleu.
